This has been such an exciting creative project - I’ve been moodboarding and pondering paint colours and finishes for the last few months and we’ve curated the space with stand out products from our brilliant Glassette brands. Let me show you what we’ve done!

KITCHEN

When you’re choosing a rug for a rented apartment, for the biggest impact, get the biggest you can afford! I love this chequerboard design by Ruggable - to me chequerboard is basically a neutral and I think this could work in any room of the apartment. It’s nice to move things around sometimes.

BEDROOM

I’m a big fan of Kris Lamorena’s original works of art. This series of micro artworks features portraits of people Kris has encountered on her travels - they always feel so magic to me, especially in her use of colour. I bought one of these in our first Art Kiosk at Glassette and it’s hanging by my bed.

For the bedside tables I went for the Algers Stools by Josh Page Studio they're part of the Cubist Collection and they’re hand crafted from solid wood. They are such a versatile piece (they can be a side table, a stool) that can add a sculptural element to any room!

Palefire make my favourite lamps. They’re made from moulded paper pulp, they feel very mid-century to me in their silhouette but also contemporary and fresh with their other-worldy use of colour. We used the Pavillion Table Lamp in Clove in the living room and the Satellite Uplighter Lamp in Citrine in the bedroom.

LIVING ROOM

All the plants you see in the video tour are from Patch Plants - they have the best online index of plants and their site is really easy to use. You can shop based on your level of plant expertise which is really clever. It’s the biggest thing that makes an impact on a rental space, filling the space with greenery.

Six Dots designs and makes bespoke furniture in North London. This wobbly, expressive candelabra is made from tubular aluminium, it’s an artful centrepiece for your coffee table or for your dinner parties. Instant drama.

Finding beautiful, well-made affordable frames isn’t easy - these ones by Late Afternoon that we've used throughout the apartment my current favourites. I especially love this pillarbox red colour - a red frame always add something special to a more neutral wall.

Art and prints are the easiest way to make a rental space feel like yours - I’ve curated a few of my current favourite joyful designs for the apartement by Lucy Mahon, Carla Llanos, Ayesha Pearce, Yvette Miller, Natalia Bagniewska and David Horgan.

OUTDOOR

I wanted to extend the colour, cosiness and contemporary feeling from the interiors to this outdoor space. This cushion and blanket from Granite + Smoke’s new range are made in small batches, from recycled wool. The bold patterns are inspired by London's graphic architectural landscape and modernist colours so I thought these were perfect for this space!

Great outdoor furniture is really difficult to find in the UK - this collection from The Conran Shop is beautifully designed and feels really timeless. I opted for this light green, grasshopper shade, a nod to the green of the bedding and all the plants we’ve incorporated into the space. If I lived here, I’d sit out here all year round!

COLOURFUL INTERIORS TIPS FOR SMALLER SPACES WITH LAURA JACKSON

1. Add Personal Touches with Meaningful Objects
"Choose pieces that bring personality and warmth to your flat—like a hand-thrown vase, an artful candleholder, or beautifully crafted table linens from Glassette. These unique items are perfect for layering character into your space and making it feel distinctly yours"

2. Layer Textures for Warmth and Comfort
"Use a mix of textiles—like soft throws, layered rugs, and plush cushions—to create a cosy, inviting atmosphere. Textures bring depth and character to your flat, making it feel both stylish and lived-in."

3. Prioritise Lighting to Set the Mood
"Lighting transforms a space. Mix table lamps, wall sconces, and candles to create a warm, ambient glow. Avoid relying solely on overhead lights—layering light sources adds charm and creates different moods for different times of day. I never have the big light on in the evening."
