Jikoni Scoop

Regular price

£21.50

'Jikoni' in Kiswahili means 'kitchen'.

This unique little scoop makes for a wonderful kitchen utensil. It's an ideal size for using with tea leaves, ground coffee, dried herbs and seeds. With the intricately carved grooves on the handle, it's a design piece to treasure for years to come.

It has been made by Filbert (our artisan in Mtwara, Tanzania) and is a wonderful gift for a foodie. Some of the scoops feature a unique two-toned natural grain, showcasing the raw natural beauty of African Blackwood.

We work directly with our group of Makonde wood carvers who are renowned for their craftsmanship, a skill passed down for generations from father to son.

Hand wash gently in lukewarm water and dry immediately. Do not put in the dishwasher or leave soaking in liquids. Use food safe mineral oil when required to retain the natural finish of the wood.

All orders made between the 10th - 19th of February 2023 will be dispatched on the 20th of February 2023.
