About Alfred Newall

Alfred Newall is a fine furniture designer and maker based in Sussex and London, taking inspiration from historic pieces and rural vernacular design. Alfred uses traditional methods and processes in his work and each piece is made in his workshop from sustainably sourced materials. After training at the Building Crafts College, Alfred worked for Plain English Design while setting up his own practice. His focus is on the qualities of utilitarian design and proportion, with functionality and longevity at the core.
