COMMONROOM commissions contemporary artists to create original wallpapers and textiles for the home, bridging the world of art and interiors. Founders Kate Hawkins and Sarah McLean set out to make high quality art accessible to everyone and not just the privileged few. As well as their unique original designs, they produce an annual archival collection that commemorates the great history of artist wallpapers. All of their products are designed and made sustainably in the UK, both supporting British manufacturing and minimising their carbon footprint. Wallpaper has generally been thought of as background rather than foreground – but COMMONROOM wallpapers are designed to challenge and excite, like any great work of art.
