About Nocturne

Nocturne Workshop creates handcrafted lighting based on the idea that the best form always allows function. From their workshop, founder Simon Day leads a small team of specialist craftspeople making each lamp to order, by hand, one at a time. The team uses materials, including brass, sustainably-sourced hard-woods and aluminium to construct lamps to the highest level of craftsmanship, designed to last and age beautifully over time. Simon draws his design inspiration from his fine art sculpture background, modernist architecture, workshop machinery and the 20th-century design sensibilities of designers such as Ernest Race, Anni Albers, Frank Guille and Jean Prouve.
