ISHKAR is a London-based social enterprise seeking to challenge one-sided narratives of conflict-affected countries through a unique blend of exquisite craftsmanship and storytelling. Celebrating time-honoured traditions, ISHKAR collaborates with master weavers in northern Afghanistan, producing luxurious hand-knotted and handwoven rugs. ISHKAR Kilims are spun from raw Afghan Ghazni wool, a variety unique to Afghanistan known for its hardwearing qualities, meaning the kilims can survive for centuries. Their collection, presenting a range of organic and more geometric designs, combines contemporary influences with age-old techniques.
