Max Ososki is an artist based between the UK and France with a strong food and drink background, which has been a constant source of inspiration. Her work, which is a combination of painting and collage image-making techniques, is a celebration of eating, drinking and all things convivial. Max studied Fashion Design, then a degree in Illustration where she developed her love of collage. She's exploring more abstract pieces, working with cut-outs and assemblage in my personal work. Max mostly uses acrylics, gesso, and found vintage paper, as well as book pages, letters, envelopes or just tiny scraps of old paper that she has collected for many years from brocantes and old book shops
While each piece begins with an idea, sensation or emotion in mind, Max claims the materials themselves sometimes take her in a different direction and she's always looking for balance and that moment where each element clicks into place. Colour is the foundation of Max's work, she can often spend hours making minute adjustments to get exactly the right hue, it's an obsessive relationship.
